About the Role
Class 1 Driver (Days) – Monday to Friday<br> <strong>Location:</strong> Thame<br><strong>Salary:</strong> Circa £37,000 per annum (dependent on experience)<br><strong>Hours:</strong> 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday<br><strong>Working Pattern:</strong> 7:30am – 5:30pm (including a 1-hour lunch break)<br><br><br> <strong>About the Role</strong><br><br> We are looking for a reliable and professional Class 1 Driver to join our transport team. This role involves regular local palletised Collection & Delivery (C&D) work, typically using the same vehicle and operating on familiar routes. However, flexibility is required to support changing business needs.<br><br><br> A daily trailer collection from a local customer at 5:00pm is a key part of the role, with the trailer returning to our depot afterwards.<br><br><br> We provide well-maintained vehicles and electric pallet trucks to support the operation. There may also be opportunities to assist within our National Distribution department for those looking to broaden their experience.<br><br><br> Please note that some deliveries involve an element of physical work.<br><br><br> <strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><br><strong> Collection & Delivery Operations</strong><br><ul><li>Complete assigned collections and deliveries safely and efficiently.</li><ul><li>Follow all company and pallet network procedures and processes.</li><li>Ensure all paperwork and delivery requirements are completed accurately.</li><li>Maintain high standards of vehicle care and presentation.</li></ul></ul><br> <strong>Health & Safety</strong><br><ul><li>Comply with all company Health & Safety policies and industry regulations.</li><ul><li>Support the Transport Manager and Shift Supervisors in maintaining a safe working environment.</li><li>Ensure Driver CPC training remains current and compliant (training provided and funded by the company).</li><li>Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.</li></ul></ul><br> <strong>Customer Service</strong><br><ul><li>Deliver excellent customer service at all times.</li><ul><li>Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers.</li><li>Raise any operational or customer issues through the appropriate channels.</li><li>Maintain a professional appearance and ensure vehicles reflect company standards.</li></ul></ul><br> <strong>National Distribution Support</strong><br><ul><li>Assist with ad hoc national distribution requirements when required.</li><ul><li>Provide operational flexibility to support business demands.</li></ul></ul><br> <strong>Skills & Experience</strong><br><strong> Essential</strong><br><ul><li>Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence.</li><ul><li>Driver CPC Qualification.</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li><li>Excellent customer service and communication skills.</li><li>Friendly, professional, and courteous approach to customer interactions.</li></ul></ul><br> <strong>Preferred</strong><br><ul><li>Minimum 12 months' experience driving a Class 1 vehicle.</li></ul><br> <strong>Overtime</strong><br> <strong>Contracted Overtime:</strong><br><br><br><ul><li>Saturday mornings: 7:00am – 1:00pm</li><ul><li>Required approximately once per month</li></ul></ul><br> <strong>Benefits</strong><br><ul><li>Competitive salary of circa £37,000 (dependent on experience)</li><ul><li>Company-funded CPC training</li><li>22 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays</li><li>Modern fleet and electric pallet trucks provided</li><li>Stable Monday to Friday working pattern</li><li>Opportunity to gain experience within National Distribution operations</li></ul></ul><br> If you are a professional Class 1 Driver looking for a stable weekday role with a well-established transport operation, we would love to hear from you.
