OB/GYN Specialty Coder
Location: Irving, TX | Onsite

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
• $35.75/hour – Certified Coder
• $42.18/hour – COBGC Certification (5+ years OB/GYN coding experience required)
• Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Temp-to-Perm (W2)
• Start Date: ASAP

ROLE IMPACT

The Senior Specialty Coder – OB/GYN ensures accurate and compliant physician/professional fee (ProFee) coding that supports reimbursement integrity and minimizes denials. This role reviews clinical documentation, assigns ICD-10-CM and CPT codes, and upholds a coding accuracy rate of 95% or higher. Success is measured by audit performance, denial reduction, and adherence to payer and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
• Review and analyze OB/GYN physician documentation to assign accurate ICD-10-CM (diagnosis) and CPT (procedure) codes in accordance with payer and regulatory guidelines
• Abstract patient and provider data within Epic EMR and related coding systems to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement
• Maintain coding accuracy of 95% or higher and identify documentation deficiencies or discrepancies
• Collaborate with clinical documentation improvement (CDI) and revenue cycle teams to resolve denials and coding inquiries
• Stay current on coding updates, payer policies, and industry best practices for specialty physician services

Minimum Qualifications
• Active coding certification (CPC, CCS-P, or specialty equivalent required) - Not open to apprentices

• At least 2 years of OB/GYN coding experience required
• 5+ years of OB/GYN coding experience + COBGC coding certification required for specialty pay rate
• Experience with physician (professional fee) coding in a healthcare setting

• Candidate must have a laptop and two monitors available to work from

• Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) systems
• ICD-10-CM and CPT coding guidelines and reference tools
• Practice management and billing systems
• Microsoft Office or comparable productivity software
