<p>Cherry Bekaert is partnering with a long-standing client on a confidential direct-hire search for a <b>hands-on</b> <b>Controller </b>to support a growing, fast-paced organization. This is a critical hire and will serve as a key right-hand partner to senior finance leadership.</p> <p><b>Location:</b><br /> Fully remote; however, candidates must be located in South Florida and able to attend monthly in-person team meetings in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area. An annual out of state trip to company headquarters is required.</p> <p><b>Compensation:</b><br /> Salary targeted up to $100,000.</p> <p> <b>Role Overview</b></p> <p>This Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations and play a hands-on role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and operational continuity. The position partners closely with the senior finance leadership and manages an offshore accounting team.  </p> <p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Lead and manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, reconciliations, and oversight of AP</li> <li>Serve as a hands-on partner to senior finance leadership, proactively identifying issues and driving solutions</li> <li>Supervise and collaborate with an offshore accounting team </li> <li>Ensure compliance with GAAP and oversee technical accounting matters including revenue recognition and lease accounting standards (ASC 606 and ASC 842) </li> <li>Oversee inventory accounting in a high-volume transactional environment</li> <li>Support process improvements and documentation to enhance efficiency and controls</li> <li>Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to support business initiatives</li> </ul> <p><b>Required Qualifications</b></p> <ul> <li>Collaborative communication style and strong team leadership skills</li> </ul> <ul type="disc"> <li>Proven senior accounting leadership experience</li> <li>Strong hands-on accounting background</li> <li>NetSuite ERP and strong excel experience is required</li> <li>Technical accounting experience, including ASC 606 and ASC 842</li> <li>Inventory management and accounting experience</li> <li>Demonstrated initiative, ownership mindset, and ability to operate in a dynamic environment</li> </ul> <p><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>CPA preferred</li> <li>Experience in a multi-entity environment preferred</li> <li>E-Commerce experience preferred and familiar with platforms such as Shopify, BigCommerce, Givee, and Stripe</li> <li>Sales and use tax compliance experience preferred</li> <li>Retail and/or distribution industry experience preferred</li> </ul> <div>IND4</div>
