Permanent Travel and Expenses Manager - Travel and Expenses Office - Part Time - 14 Hours
Working pattern: This is a part-time post working Monday & Tuesday, 14 hours each week. We’re committed to supporting staff to achieve a healthy work-life balance and are happy to talk about flexible working. This is a hybrid role, working from Holyrood, and from home.

About the role
This is an excellent opportunity to join the Travel and Expenses Office as a Travel and Expenses Manager. As a Travel and Expenses Manager, you’ll be responsible for supporting the office in managing the provision of advice, support and services to MSPs, their staff, the SPCB and Parliament staff in relation to travel and expenses
The Travel and Expenses Office is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Reimbursement of Members’ Expenses Scheme on behalf of the SPCB. We provide advice and guidance on the Scheme, while maintaining its transparency and principles. We provide support and guidance to Members, their staff and SPS staff in relation to the administration, processing and publication of travel and expenses.
The Travel and Expenses Office is made up of around 15 staff.

In this role, working 2 days per week (Monday and Tuesday), you will job-share with another Travel and Expenses Manager who works on different days. Together, you will co-manage, coach and develop a small number of staff within the wider Travel and Expenses team, ensuring consistent management and support throughout the week.
You’ll ensure resources are allocated appropriately to provide a quality and timely service to Members, Members’ staff and parliamentary colleagues. Working with other managers in the office, on a rota basis, you’ll assist in the organisation of daily workloads, manage busy periods, and support the wider team to process claims, handle enquiries, and give clear advice.
You’ll encourage a culture where your team members are empowered to deliver high quality work which will enhance the reputation of the Parliament. You’ll also champion collaborative working with colleagues across the parliamentary service, promoting positive and open communication, as well as our commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Offers will be awarded based on merit. For this role, the following weighting is used to come to a final score on which offers will be based. Application 20%, Interview 80%.
