Are you a seasoned heavy-duty truck mechanic with a passion for maintaining vital oil drilling machinery? We’re seeking a proactive, skilled Shop Mechanic to join our dynamic team based in Midland. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge equipment, ensuring operational excellence on-site and supporting the vital energy infrastructure that keeps industries moving.
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience repairing, maintaining, and installing oil well drilling machinery and equipment.
- Proficiency with hand tools and the ability to follow detailed work orders—both oral and written.
- Valid driver’s license, with experience using Apache trucks, and transportation to and from work.
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred to facilitate communication across diverse teams.
- An ASE certification in light-duty truck repair is a plus but not mandatory.
Additional Skills and Experience That Boost Your Candidacy:
- Experience attaching hoisting cables, managing rig site equipment, and transferring equipment to repair yards.
- Knowledge of safety standards and compliance, including the ability to adhere to strict PPE requirements and safety protocols.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Prior experience with oilfield machinery and industry-specific maintenance.
- Strong background in light-duty truck mechanics with extensive hands-on fieldwork.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to obtain PEC Safeland Certification prior to start date; proof must be uploaded into Fieldglass.
- Completion of ANSI Z390.1-2017 instructor-led H2S training specific to certain roles.
- Familiarity with required PPE including safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hard hats, H2S monitors, SCBA, fire extinguishers, FR clothing, and task-specific PPE such as hearing protection and chemical handling gear.
