Senior Actuarial Analyst / Actuary

Harnham are working with a growing insurance provider who are looking to hire a Senior Actuarial Analyst to help build and strengthen their internal capital modelling capability.
THE COMPANY
This is a specialist insurance provider operating in the UK retail market.
They are scaling rapidly and have a modern, lean structure with a strong technical ethos.
With a dynamic environment and continued customer growth, they are now bringing key actuarial functions in‑house.
THE ROLE
You will play a leading role in building and owning the organisation's capital modelling capability as they transition these processes internally. This is a high‑impact position offering autonomy, visibility, and scope to shape modelling frameworks across the business.
Specifically, you can expect to be involved in:
Leading the development and oversight of capital models aligned to Solvency II requirements.
Supporting actuarial reporting processes and contributing to wider risk based decision making.
Collaborating with pricing, claims, and other commercial teams to embed capital insights.
Delivering project-based analysis driven by business needs and emerging risks.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Part‑qualified or newly qualified actuary with strong exam progress.
Experience in capital modelling within an insurance environment.
Understanding of Solvency II frameworks and related reporting.
Coding skills (such as Python or similar).
Strong academic background with the ability to operate proactively and independently.
Motor or retail insurance experience is beneficial but not essential.
THE PROCESS
Initial 30‑minute interview (experience, motivations, high‑level technical).
1‑hour technical interview with actuarial team members (capital modelling deep dive).
Final 1‑hour conversation with senior leadership (culture fit and motivations).
