Teaching Assistant - Ellesmere Port Youth Worker / Sports Coach / Residential Support Worker - Teaching Assistant (SEMH School) Location: Ellesmere Port Contract: Temporary to Permanent Do you have experience supporting young people through sport, youth work, or residential care and feel ready for a rewarding role in a school setting? Simply Education are working in partnership with an outstanding SEMH school in Ellesmere Port to recruit a passionate people who have been Sports Coach / Youth Workers Residential Support Worker who wants to bring their skills into education and make a real difference every day. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on building relationships, motivating young people, and helping them succeed both emotionally and academically. The Role You'll support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have experienced trauma and benefit from a calm, consistent and nurturing approach. This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll support pupils throughout the school day - both in the classroom and outside of the classroom, taking part in Forest School, outdoor learning and structured activities designed to build confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing. You'll play a key part in helping pupils develop the skills they need to understand and regulate their emotions, while also supporting their learning and personal development. What You'll Be Doing Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups to access lessons and develop key learning skills Supporting outdoor learning sessions including Forest School, sports and structured activities Using activities to build teamwork, confidence, resilience and emotional regulation Helping pupils manage behaviour and emotions in a calm, supportive and consistent way Building strong, trusting relationships and acting as a reliable positive role model Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams and SEN staff to implement individual support plans Creating a safe, structured and encouraging environment where pupils can thrive Who We're Looking For This role is ideal for people with experience such as: Sports Coach Youth Worker Residential Support Worker Behaviour Mentor Pastoral Support Teaching Assistant (SEMH/SEND) We're looking for someone who is: Calm, patient, resilient, and confident supporting challenging behaviour Passionate about helping young people grow emotionally, socially and academically Comfortable working in a structured school environment Interested in developing a long-term career in education Trauma-informed experience is desirable, but not essential - full training will be provided.
