About the Role
We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable Funeral Service Operative to join a professional and dedicated team based in Dorchester.
This role plays a vital part in supporting funeral services and ensuring the highest level of care and respect.
Working Hours:
•Monday to Friday
•08:30 – 17:00
•37.5 hours per week
•Plus, out-of-hours on-call rota offering additional earning potential

Key Responsibilities:
•Assisting with funeral services including bearing & transport duties
•Driving private ambulances and ceremonial funeral vehicles
•Preparing and maintaining funeral vehicles to an immaculate standard
•Supporting Funeral Directors with administrative and operational duties
•Working closely with colleagues to ensure services are delivered to the highest professional standards
The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone who:
•Ideally has previous experience in a similar role (although full training can be provided for the right candidate)
•Is compassionate, empathetic and understands the sensitive nature of funeral care
•Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in delivering the highest standards of service
•Is physically fit and able to undertake manual duties as part of the role
•Holds a full UK manual driving licence
•Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with colleagues and clients
