What you will do:
Perform microbiological analysis on a wide range of clinical samples to support diagnosis and treatment
Ensure all testing complies with quality assurance and laboratory standards
Maintain and operate laboratory equipment, ensuring accurate calibration and functionality
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support effective patient care
Support and supervise junior staff and students, contributing to training and development
Requirements:
Degree or equivalent qualification in Biomedical Science
HCPC registration
Minimum of two years’ experience in microbiology
Competence in microtomy
Strong understanding of laboratory quality standards and procedures
Applicants must be HCPC registered with proven experience working within a microbiology laboratory. A driving licence is desirable, supporting ease of travel where required. You should be confident working independently while contributing effectively within a team-based laboratory environment.
