Maintenance Technician – (Electrical or Mechanical Bias)

I am working with a world-class research organisation based in Cambridge who are on the lookout for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join their Facilities team.
Whether your expertise lies in electrical systems or mechanical plant, if you’ve got the qualifications and strong hands-on experience, this could be a brilliant opportunity to support a high-tech scientific facility doing truly meaningful work in vital research operations.
What you’ll be doing:
Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across a busy and complex site
Getting hands-on with building systems - including steam boilers, HVAC and BMS
Liaising with internal stakeholders and supervising contractors
Taking the lead on fault-finding, problem-solving, repair and system diagnostics
On-call rota (around 6 - 8 weeks per year, with additional pay)
What we need from you:
A recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in either electrical or mechanical engineering, as an electrician, or plumbing.
Solid experience maintaining complex buildings and systems
Strong working knowledge of engineering services and building maintenance
Experience working with BMS and HVAC systems
A full UK driving licence
What can you expect in return:
Salary of £32,367 - £34,383 per annum, depending on experience
Additional payments when on on-call/call out
Standard working hours are 8am – 4pm (36 hours per week)
40.5 days (including bank holidays and privilege days)
