KS3 Teaching Assistant Birmingham

About the role:

justteachers is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant for a thriving SEN secondary school in Birmingham. Working within Key Stage 3, you will support students with a range of additional learning needs in a full-time position from September 2026 through to July 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide classroom support for students with SEN across a range of subjects.
• Deliver targeted interventions under the direction of teaching staff.
• Support students with autism, ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning.
• Assist with implementing EHCP targets and support plans.
• Foster confidence, resilience and independence in students.

Pre-requisites:

• Experience supporting young people with SEN in a school or similar setting.
• Understanding of secondary education and inclusive practice.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
• Flexible, proactive and reliable attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Right to work in the UK.
