About the Role
<p>A large retailer is now looking for a Transport Manager reporting to the Distribution Center Manager you will be responsible for a fleet of 60 Vehicles.<br />
250 day rate, 60 drivers.</p>
<p>Must have a CPC</p>
<p>Job Requirements Responsibilities include:</p>
<p>•Organising staffing levels to meet business requirements.<br />
•Organising agency support as necessary.<br />
•Ensuring legal compliance with regard to road transport and EU drivers hours regulations i.e. tachographs.<br />
•Completing processing of orders, production of pick lists and dispatch notes and loading sheets in accordance with depot procedures.<br />
•Minimising delivery costs through optimized vehicle utilization.<br />
•Ensuring all vehicle files and service recording is accurate and compliant.<br />
•Ensuring all drivers and mates are fully inducted into their roles and that training sessions are fully supported. Then maintaining detailed records and identifying further training / retraining.<br />
•Ensuring all transport statistics are produced in a timely fashion for internal and external consumption.<br />
•Acting as the first point of contact for all drivers and mates and ensuring a speedy response and resolution to any issues, referring to the Transport Manager where appropriate.<br />
•Monitoring and taking appropriate action with regard to absence management.<br />
•Acting as a role model to the Depot by supporting the Distribution manager in other tasks as required.</p>
<p>What we’re looking for:</p>
<p>•You will come from a distribution and transport background, ideally with load planning experience.<br />
•You will be comfortable with numerical data and be able to efficiently gather and analyses transport information.<br />
•You will have excellent customer service skills and the ability to work alongside the transport crew and act as the first point of contact to resolve issues.<br />
•As a skilled problem solver you will always be thinking ahead, looking for improvements.<br />
•You will have a proactive & positive approach and step up to support at management level as required.</p>
