About the Role

Are you a Head of Rail Systems or Rail Systems Lead with experience on Network Rail infrastructure projects?
Do you have a background in signalling systems and communications?
Salary: £80,000-£100,000 per annum
Location: Birmingham (UK-wide travel to sites including Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Derby)
Role Details:
Join a leading railway contractor's light rail division and lead the rail systems team in delivering multi-million-pound infrastructure projects across the UK. In this role, you will:
·Oversee the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of signalling and other rail communications systems on light rail.
·Manage a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight.
·Liaise with Network Rail, clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
·Ensure compliance with all relevant standards, safety regulations, and quality procedures.
·Support tendering, planning, and resource allocation for upcoming projects.
·Identify and mitigate risks across technical, commercial, and operational aspects of projects.
Essential Experience:
·Acted within a Senior / Lead role acting as a Head of Rail Systems or equivalent position on Network Rail Infrastructure.
·Background within signalling systems.
