Field Application Engineer / Solutions Engineer – LiDAR Systems (m/f/d)

Your mission Shape the future of real-world LiDAR applications at a leading high-tech company in Munich. At Blickfeld, we develop our own innovative LiDAR technology based on a frictionless MEMS mirror. Our sensors create 3D data of the environment in high resolution. These 3D point clouds contain detailed information about the exact size, position and speed of objects which allows us to analyze the shape and movement of people, vehicles and other objects. Blickfeld LiDAR sensors excel in a wide variety of applications, e.g. security, volume measurement and traffic management, and smart cities. As a Field Application Engineer (m/f/d), your mission is to bridge cutting-edge technology and customer success. You will conceptualize solutions, plan rollouts and drive customer projects for different use cases, e.g. in airports, power plants and railway stations. In doing so, you will learn to thoroughly understand the requirements of our key customers, find creative solutions and implement them in a successful way. Your tasks Project Delivery: You are involved in winning, planning and realizing projects on-site and remotely and enable the customer to work with our LiDAR solutions. Customer Ownership: You take full responsibility of working with our customers and understand how our solutions can efficiently solve their problems. On-Site Support: You visit our customers on-site to provide installation assistance, troubleshooting, and hands-on technical support. Solution Development: You contribute your own ideas by writing code to continuously improve and extend our LiDAR solutions. Customer Support: You provide 1st and 2nd level support, proactively resolving issues and handling problem-solving in the event of customer complaints. Cross-Team Alignment: You align with our sales and development teams in the prioritization and scoping of customer projects and new product features. Brand Representation: You represent Blickfeld at international trade fares, events and trainings while building strong, long-lasting relationships with customers. Your profile Experience: Previous professional experience is not mandatory. We welcome both entry-level candidates and experienced professionals who are eager to grow in a customer-facing technical role. Education: You hold a Master’s degree in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Hands-On Mindset: You are a proactive, hands-on person with a strong sense of ownership and a creative approach to problem-solving. Programming Skills: You have good knowledge in at least one programming language. Technology Stack Experience: Knowledge and experience with Python, NODE-RED or C++ are a big plus. Systems & Networking Knowledge: You have a basic understanding of operating systems (Linux / Windows) and network technologies. Communication Skills: You have very good communication skills as well as the necessary calmness when interacting with customers, where you act as a competent partner. Development Tools: Knowledge of Git and continuous integration toolchains is an advantage. Analytical Skills: Experience and interest in Data analysis is helpful. Languages: Very good written and spoken English and German, at least C1 level in both languages, are required.
