About the Role:
The Senior Project Manager will lead data modernization initiatives for the State Office of Vital Records. This role focuses on improving data quality, modernizing legacy systems, and supporting FHIR-based solutions to enhance public health data systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and deliver multiple IT and data modernization projects
Support modernization of Vital Records systems using FHIR standards and APIs
Establish and enforce data quality policies and processes
Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and resources
Partner with senior leadership to prioritize initiatives
Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and ensure on-time delivery
Communicate project status to technical teams and executive stakeholders
Create and maintain project and program documentation
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Public Health Administration, or related field
PMP (or equivalent) certification required
12+ years of project/program management experience
5+ years managing a portfolio of 7+ concurrent projects
Strong IT project management background (documentation, SOPs, governance)
Hands-on experience with FHIR standards and APIs
Experience in public health, government, or healthcare IT environments
Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
Preferred Experience:
RFP/RFI analysis and response experience
• Prior experience working in a State Government IT environment
