About the Role
<strong>The scope of the proposed services will include the following: </strong><br />
● Analyze and document the data conversion scope, approach, validated requirements, and the strategy for how the conversion will be performed. <br />
● Map legacy data files and elements to the new system table(s) and columns. Mapping should include translation rules, foreign key rules, among other pertinent information. <br />
● Work independently in developing program modules using SSIS ETL tool (SQL Server Integration Services) based on designs/storyboards <br />
● Create and execute SQL Queries validating and analyzing data directly from various databases <br />
● Execute team members’ SSIS programs and monitor runtimes <br />
● Resolve SSIS program errors and program performance issues without assistance from team members <br />
● Analyze/troubleshoot data integrity issue and data discrepancies <br />
● Perform code reviews and testing on new code. <br />
● Test conversion program modules to ensure accuracy <br />
● Test how the converted data performs within the system <br />
● Participates in all necessary team meetings and design sessions in accordance with Scrum ceremonies. <br />
● Provide technical knowledge transfer, training, documentation, mentorship, and guidance to State personnel for all requested work. <br />
<br />
<strong>Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are mandatory: </strong> <br />
● Three (3) plus years of expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas: <br />
o Working in the application development field with experience using Extract Transform and Load (ETL) tools, development experience using SSIS and writing complex database SQL queries <br />
o Working in a SQL server environment <br />
o Creating and maintaining SQL server agents (SSA) <br />
o Working in a relational database environment <br />
● Two (2) plus years of experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment <br />
<br />
<strong>Expertise and/or relevant experience in the following areas are desirable but not mandatory: </strong><br />
● Experience with the GitHub Version Control System, including branching strategies for complex systems <br />
● Experience with conversion projects and processes strongly preferred <br />
● Experience in identifying and addressing data quality issues <br />
● Experience with large scale public sector IT projects <br />
● Experience with JIRA <br />
● Experience with mainframe systems and lotus notes applications <br />
● Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and interpersonal skills <br />
● Strong verbal and written communication skills <br />
● Strong attention to detail and accuracy <br />
● Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner <br />
● Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
