About the Role

<strong>Part-time/on-call positions - No guarantee of hours.&nbsp;</strong><br><br><p style="text-align: left">Days in which operation occur is Tuesday, Thursday and Friday site operations occur in late morning to early afternoon. Recruitment is mainly for our Riddle, and Reedsport sites. <strong>Positions may be asked to substitute at any of the dining sites as needed.</strong><img class="fr-fic fr-dib" src="https://secure.neogov.com/images/AgencyImages/jobposting/2070/jobpostings/image/Douglas-County-WorkingParentsAward-2024-light.png" style="width: 66px"></p>This position serves meals at Senior Center dining sites; orders meals and kitchen supplies from food service contractor; directs volunteers in setting up dining site meals, serving meals, cleanup of dining site and sanitation of kitchen; coordinates with building representative regarding maintenance and safety of building.<br><br><strong>Essential Job Duties:</strong><ul><li>Supervises kitchen volunteers, assists in serving food.</li><li>Washing pots, pans, dishes, steam table, counters, equipment and floors.</li><li>Inventory supplies before and after each meal.</li><li>Assists public and other employees in answering routine questions and providing readily available information.</li><li>May utilize a cash box and make change.<strong>&nbsp;</strong></li></ul><div style="text-align: center"><strong>Requires regular and consistent attendance.&nbsp;</strong></div><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong>&nbsp;<ul><li>Any combination of course work, experience and/or training that provides required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform duties of this position. &nbsp;</li><li>A Food Handler's Certificate must be obtained within 30 days of hire.&nbsp;</li><li>&nbsp;Must possess a valid Oregon driver's license at time of appointment.</li></ul><br><strong>Physical Demands:&nbsp;</strong>Work is performed in a dining site facility typically noisy, crowded and in or near a kitchen environment. May require wearing gloves, bending, color identification, crouching, gripping with hands and fingers, hearing voice conversation, kneeling, occasionally lifting/carrying up to 60 pounds, pulling, pushing, reaching, sitting, standing long periods, stooping, twisting body, and walking while carrying objects and/or plated hot food.
