Salary: $148k -$160k + Bonus
Overview
Sirius Staffing is seeking a Senior Plant Engineer to support refinery operations by leading engineering projects, improving equipment reliability, and troubleshooting plant issues. This role partners closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions across the facility. Relocation is offered for this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Develop scopes of work, schedules, and cost estimates for plant equipment and facility projects using FEL (Front-End Loading) project methodology.
Support capital projects and equipment upgrades by working with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partners.
Prepare technical specifications, bid packages, and evaluate vendor proposals.
Troubleshoot equipment Reliability Issues and recommend repair, replacement, or life-extension solutions.
Perform equipment fitness-for-service evaluations and root cause analyses to improve plant performance.
Provide engineering support during plant shutdowns and turnarounds.
Serve as a technical resource for plant engineering, maintenance, operations, and inspection teams.
Help maintain engineering standards, specifications, and best practices.
Participate in plant engineering on-call rotation.
Leadership & Collaboration
Partner with cross-functional teams to solve complex plant and reliability challenges.
Help coordinate contractors and project teams during plant shutdowns and construction work.
Share knowledge and support the development of co-op and rotating engineering students.
Contribute to a collaborative environment by communicating clearly and working across departments to drive results.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
7–16 years of engineering experience in maintenance and/or project engineering within a refinery, chemical plant, pulp & paper mill, or similar industrial environment.
Knowledge of process industry codes, standards, and equipment reliability practices.
Experience troubleshooting equipment and system reliability issues.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)
Preferred Qualifications (but not required)
Experience with MS Project or Primavera P6.
Experience with Caesar II or CAEPIPE modeling software.
Experience with Aspen or similar operations trending software.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
