Our private clients are seeking a highly experienced Senior Housekeeper / House Manager to oversee the smooth running of multiple European residences. This is a dynamic hybrid role combining hands-on housekeeping with household and property management responsibilities, suited to a polished, proactive and highly organised candidate with extensive experience within HNW private households.
The principals are primarily based outside of Europe and use the properties intermittently throughout the year. The successful candidate will therefore be responsible for ensuring all residences are maintained to impeccable standards at all times and fully prepared for arrivals, guest stays and events.
The role will be primarily based at the family’s Cotswolds estate, with occasional travel to London and Mallorca.
Schedule: Flexibility essential depending on principals’ schedules and occupancy
- Quieter periods when principals are away will focus more heavily on administration and property management
- During residence periods, the role will become significantly more hands-on, with longer working days expected as needed
Duties will include –
- Full hands-on housekeeping and maintaining exceptional household standards
- Laundry, wardrobe care and organisation
- Managing household administration, including bills, utilities and maintenance schedules
- Liaising with and overseeing gardeners, maintenance contractors, cleaners and external suppliers
- Grocery shopping and household provisioning ahead of arrivals
- Family-style cooking and kitchen support as required
- Event preparation, support and coordination
- Managing the upkeep and readiness of multiple residences
- Coordinating vehicle logistics including the collection and return of cars from storage
- Supporting smooth day-to-day operations across all properties
- Ensuring principals never have to deal with household or property issues during residence periods
The ideal candidate will be –
- Highly experienced within HNW/UHNW private households
- Equally confident with hands-on housekeeping and household management responsibilities
- Computer-literate and highly organised administratively
- Well-presented, discreet, warm and naturally service-oriented
- Flexible and adaptable with a proactive “no job too small” attitude
- Experienced in managing contractors and multiple properties
- Strong communicator with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently for long periods when principals are away
- A driver with a full driving licence
Properties include:
- Cotswolds: 8-bedroom main house, guest house and staff accommodation
- Mayfair: 2-bedroom apartment
- Shoreditch: 2-bedroom apartment
- Mallorca: 5-bedroom villa with staff accommodation
Accommodation: Private accommodation provided within the Cotswolds estate
Travel: Occasional travel to Mallorca (approximately 3 trips per year) and London properties
Start date: September 2026
Salary: £55,000 gross per annum
Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 3 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
