About the Role

This is a key administrative and compliance role within the business. You will be the primary point of contact for customers, managing the full ‘paper trail’ from initial muck-away classification through to final invoicing. You will also handle incoming calls and provide support to other areas of the business, such as skip hire. Your responsibilities will ensure every load is technically compliant, correctly ticketed, and accurately billed, while completing all required Waste Returns. This role plays a vital part in maintaining regulatory compliance, smooth business operations, and company revenue. Key Responsibilities Customer & Phone Support Answer incoming phone calls professionally and assist with customer enquiries Support other business areas, such as skip hire, ensuring smooth coordination across the business Ticketing & Data Entry Receive and process all site tickets (muck-away and aggregates) Accurately input data into WasteLogics and internal systems to ensure seamless billing Technical Compliance Prepare Waste Transfer Notes (WTNs) Ensure all waste is correctly classified under the European Waste Catalogue (EWC) Maintain full compliance with Environment Agency regulations Invoicing & Financial Control Generate and issue customer invoices Reconcile tickets against purchase orders Resolve billing discrepancies and payment queries directly with clients Support company cash flow by ensuring prompt and accurate billing Regulatory Returns Collate monthly and quarterly data Complete and submit Environment Agency (EA) waste returns Ensure all reporting is accurate, compliant, and submitted on time Preferred Skills & Experience Waste Industry Experience (Essential): Previous experience within the waste industry, including completing Environment Agency waste returns Commercial Awareness: Experience in a fast-paced environment where invoicing accuracy directly impacts cash flow Communication Skills: Professional telephone manner with the ability to explain technical waste requirements clearly to non-technical customers IT Proficiency: Strong Excel skills and experience using specialist waste or logistics software (Waste Logics experience advantageous)
