Being part of the Rosyth team at Babcock means joining a group of people all working towards the delivery of the naval fleet of the future. And as a Global FTSE 250 company we can give you all the support and resources you need to help us reach our ambitious goals.

Why Babcock?
Our Purpose defines everything we do, to create a safe and secure world, together. For you that means being part of an inclusive community contributing to vital national security projects.
Benefits include excellent holiday provision, holiday trading, access to employee share schemes and our retail savings portal and professional fee payment. And if you’re a Reservist in the armed forces, you’ll receive additional paid leave to fulfil your duties.
Type 31 Frigate Programme
The Royal Navy awarded the Type 31 Programme to Babcock in 2019 to deliver five general purpose frigates, signalling a bright future for shipbuilding activity at the historic dockyard at Rosyth, one of the largest waterside manufacturing and repair facilities in the UK.
A dynamic and innovative opportunity, the Type 31 programme is the first of its kind to be delivered under the new National Shipbuilding Strategy and will offer you a chance to be part of a cutting-edge naval initiative. We are looking for people like you who are ready for a career on a prestigious naval project. Find out more about Type 31 and be part of something exceptional.

Relocating to Fife
As well as the meaningful and fulfilling work onsite there are lots of great reasons for making Rosyth your new home.
We’re based in the historic Scottish county of Fife, the third largest local authority in Scotland and home to over 360,000 people. Most of our team live close by, with the majority situated in the town of Rosyth or in Dunfermline, which was recently named the best city in the UK for quality of life due to its low house prices, and its culture and amenities.
Fife itself has been voted the ‘No 1 outdoor destination’ by Scottish Natural Heritage for the past eight years – with 4,961 listed buildings, 48 conservation areas and 117 miles of coastline, it’s a place full of history and natural beauty.
If you’re a sports fan, then there is plenty for you to do. There are 50 golf courses across the region including the world-famous St Andrews, the home of Golf and its world governing body The R&A. It also has the only FIA-graded motorsport venue in Scotland Knockhill Racing Circuit, with Cowdenbeath Racing and Lochgelly Raceway also easily accessible. Dunfermline Athletic are the closest Scottish football league team, with Raith Rovers further along the coast at Kirkcaldy.
There are excellent regional transport links. Rosyth is just a stone’s throw from the Forth Bridge that leads south to Edinburgh across the Firth of Forth. Road and rail links can see you quickly travel to Stirling, Falkirk, and Glasgow in the west or Perth and Dundee in the north. The closest airport is Edinburgh International, which is less than a 40-minute car journey away.
