A growing and forward-thinking accountancy firm is seeking an Audit and Accounts Senior to join its Peterborough office. This role offers the opportunity to work with a broad portfolio of clients including owner-managed businesses, charities, partnerships and limited companies, while gaining exposure across audit, accounts and tax. Role Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, charities and limited companies.
- Assist with audit assignments and support managers with audit delivery.
- Prepare independent examinations for charity clients.
- Assist in the preparation of cash flow statements.
- Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide support.
- Ensure assignments are completed within budget and agreed deadlines.
- Produce draft tax computations and supporting schedules.
- Prepare year-end accounts in line with relevant accounting standards.
- Review work completed by junior team members.
- Support and mentor junior staff development.
- Prepare VAT returns.
Personal Requirements
- ACA or ACCA qualified, or currently studying towards qualification.
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice environment.
- Strong understanding of accounts preparation, audit and tax compliance.
- Good IT skills, including experience with accountancy software packages.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
- Team-oriented with a proactive and organised approach.
- Willingness to travel to client sites and other offices when required.
