Residential Architect Location: Nashville, TN Salary: $100,000 – $130,000 + Profit share-based bonus Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision Insurance, 401(k) with 4% company match, bonus program, and profit sharing

About the Company

We are partnering with a well-established residential construction firm specializing in custom remodeling and select new-build projects. They value professionalism, craftsmanship, and a high-touch, personalized experience.

The culture is collaborative, relationship-driven, and people-first, guided by core values of resourcefulness, excellence, and trust-based decision-making.

Role Summary

We are seeking a Residential Architect to support our preconstruction and execution efforts, with a primary focus on producing clear, highly buildable construction drawings and collaborating across our development and production teams.

Moving beyond traditional design, this role within the design-build firm is centered on constructability, execution, and real-world problem-solving. You will play a critical role in moving projects from concept through construction by ensuring plans are coordinated, actionable, and ready for the field. By identifying gaps early, clarifying intent, and supporting timely decision-making, you will directly help reduce delays and keep both clients and internal teams aligned and moving forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine construction drawings for remodels, additions, and custom homes

  • Work with clients in preconstruction to drive clarity, alignment, and timely decision-making that supports project progress

  • Proven track record of producing permit-ready construction documents.

  • Work directly with project managers and field teams to resolve design and constructability challenges in real time

  • Identify gaps in plans and proactively provide clear, actionable solutions

  • Improve plan clarity to reduce field confusion, delays, and rework

What You Bring

  • Active Tennessee Architectural License

  • 3–5 years of experience in residential architecture or design

  • Strong experience with single-family homes (remodels and additions highly preferred)

  • Experience working directly with clients during preconstruction

  • Proven ability to produce field-ready, buildable construction documents

  • Experience collaborating with construction teams, project managers, or builders

  • Proficiency in:

    • Revit (preferred)

    • AutoCAD

    • Residential design software (Chief Architect, SoftPlan, or similar)

Who You Are

  • Builder-Minded: You think about framing, plumbing runs, and structural loads, not just aesthetics. You understand how a house actually goes together.

  • Decisive: You have the confidence to make a call and keep the process moving.

  • Zero Ego: You take direction well and prioritize the client's needs and the project's budget over personal design preferences.

  • Tech-Forward: You are proficient in Revit (preferred) or AutoCAD and are open to using new technology (including AI tools) to work smarter.

Why This Opportunity

  • Strong pipeline of high-end residential projects

  • Collaborative, tight-knit team environment

  • Direct impact on project execution and company processes

  • Design-build model with full visibility into design, budget, and construction

  • Opportunity to help shape and improve how plans are developed and delivered
