About the Role
This is a flexible supply teaching role, offering a combination of day-to-day cover and potential long-term placements within Key Stage 1.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and ensuring continuity of learning for pupils. Long-term placements may include full teaching responsibilities such as planning and assessment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum
Follow lesson plans provided for daily supply, or plan and assess work for long-term roles
Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment
Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and school staff
Adapt quickly to different classroom settings and routines
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
Experience teaching within Key Stage 1
Strong knowledge of the UK primary curriculum
Confident in delivering phonics, English, and Maths
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
A flexible, reliable, and proactive approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Desirable
Experience with phonics schemes such as Read Write Inc. or Letters and Sounds
Experience supporting pupils with SEND
A track record of delivering strong pupil outcomes
