About the Role
A confidential, established hospice provider is seeking a strong Hospice Executive Director to lead its Albuquerque program.
This leader will have full responsibility for the overall performance of the hospice, including day-to-day operations, clinical oversight, business development, census growth, financial performance, compliance, team leadership, and community relationships. This is a key market-facing leadership role for someone who can balance operational discipline, clinical credibility, and growth mindset.
Position Summary
The Executive Director will oversee the full hospice operation and provide leadership across business operations, clinical operations, sales alignment, staffing, budgeting, quality, and compliance. The right candidate will be comfortable leading from the front, building strong internal teams, and developing external relationships with referral sources and community partners.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership for the hospice program and local office operations
Oversee business operations, clinical operations, and census growth strategy
Drive financial performance, including budgeting, P&L oversight, and expense management
Ensure compliance with company policies, Medicare/Medicaid requirements, and all applicable state and federal hospice regulations
Partner with clinical and business development teams to strengthen referral relationships and market presence
Recruit, lead, develop, and retain a high-performing interdisciplinary team
Support quality care delivery, customer service, and operational consistency
Analyze processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement corrective action as needed
Required Background
Recent hospice leadership experience required
Minimum 2–3 years of hospice program leadership / operations management experience
Experience as an Executive Director, Administrator, Director of Clinical Operations, or similar senior hospice leader
Strong background in hospice operations, growth strategy, and clinical operations
Experience with budget development, financial oversight, and profit/loss management
Working knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid, hospice compliance, and applicable regulatory standards
Proven ability to build relationships with physicians, hospitals, facilities, and community referral sources
Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and organizational skills
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in nursing, healthcare, business, or related field preferred
