About the Role

Level 1 Teaching Assistant – SEN (Supply) Location: Neath Port Talbot Pay: £14.30 per hour Contract: Flexible Supply Work via Teaching Personnel Driving: Preferred Teaching Personnel are seeking compassionate, dedicated, and adaptable Level 1 Teaching Assistants to support a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools across Neath Port Talbot on a supply basis. About the Role You will be working across specialist SEN provisions supporting pupils aged 3–19 with a wide range of additional learning needs. These settings often include pupils who: Are non-verbal or have limited communication Have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs Have ADHD Have Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties Require support with sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing May display behaviours that challenge One of the schools you may work in is a large specialist SEN setting with a nurturing, structured environment, a strong multi-disciplinary team, sensory facilities, and a highly supportive ethos—ensuring every learner is valued, encouraged, and supported to progress. What You’ll Be Doing Supporting pupils 1:1 or within small groups Assisting with communication strategies (visuals, PECS, gestures) Helping maintain a safe, calm, and positive learning environment Working collaboratively with Teachers, ALNCo’s, and other support staff Providing emotional regulation support and encouraging independence Supporting personal care where required (training provided if needed) Why Choose Supply with Teaching Personnel?
