We are seeking a dynamic and driven Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead pharmacy operations, ensure compliance, and help scale a growing organization. 🔧 Key Responsibilities
Operations & Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day pharmacy operations and ensure efficient workflow
- Verify prescriptions, ensure accurate dispensing, and provide patient counseling
- Lead, mentor, and develop pharmacy technicians and staff
- Foster a positive, high-performance, and professional work environment
- Monitor prescription volume and optimize staffing and workflow processes
- Address patient concerns, escalations, and service recovery with professionalism
- Support growth initiatives, including expansion into new locations
- Maintain oversight of inventory, including controlled substances
Compliance & PIC Responsibilities
- Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge in accordance with California Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Ensure full compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate recordkeeping, licensing, and regulatory documentation
- Ensure full compliance with federal and California pharmacy regulations, including Title 16, Division 17 of the California Code of Regulations
- Oversee controlled substance management, security, and audit readiness
- Ensure proper staff supervision and technician-to-pharmacist ratio compliance
- Develop and maintain pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs
- Lead and represent the pharmacy during inspections and regulatory audits
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
🎯 Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacist License (Required)
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution
- 5+ years of experience in retail
- Prior PIC experience or demonstrated leadership in a pharmacy setting preferred
- Strong operational mindset with the ability to manage and improve workflow
- High-energy, proactive leadership style with a hands-on approach
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, independent pharmacy environment
