Practice Manager

This Am Law 100 firm with revenues of over $500m requires a trusted advisor and strategic partner to Department Chairs and Deputy Chairs. You will be responsible for driving the execution of strategic initiatives, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring alignment across key business functions including Accounting, Legal Talent Management, Marketing and Business Development, IT, and People Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support key Firm and Department initiatives
  • Set and drive strategic goals for assigned Departments
  • Analyze financial, productivity, and utilization data to provide actionable insights
  • Manage attorney staffing, onboarding, and development
  • Drive practice performance by leading work assignment allocation
  • Collaborate with Firm and Department leadership on annual budgets, forecasts, targets and manage performance against goals
  • Support and participate in the selection, recruitment, and integration of partners, associates, and other professionals in assigned Departments
  • Facilitate innovation and use of AI resources
  • Participate in client/matter intake process to ensure new matters are properly vetted, assessed for strategic fit, and coded for tracking purposes
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Administrative Departments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3-5 years in a practice management role within an Am Law 200 law firm
  • Project management and/or process improvement qualifications preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and present data
