We are working with a progressive, trauma-informed children’s residential care provider who are seeking an experienced Responsible Individual / Regional Manager to join their growing organisation in the North East of England.

The Role
This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for overseeing four children’s homes across the North East. You will supervise and support Registered Managers, ensure regulatory compliance, and embed therapeutic, trauma-informed practice consistently across all services.
You will act as the designated safeguarding lead for the region and play a key role in driving quality, culture, and outcomes for children and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership, supervision, and professional support to Registered Managers
Ensure all homes meet or exceed Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
Maintain a minimum ‘Good’ Ofsted rating, supporting homes to achieve Outstanding where possible
Act as Regional Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
Embed a consistent therapeutic and trauma-informed approach across all services
Oversee staffing levels, training, supervision, and workforce development
Support homes through Ofsted registration, inspections, and action planning
Audit and quality assure care planning, safeguarding, and core documentation
Work closely with therapy teams to ensure holistic, child-centred care
Manage admissions, transitions, and discharges effectively
Support and lead on investigations, allegations, and disciplinary processes when required
Develop and monitor continuous improvement plans for each home
Build strong relationships with children, staff, and senior leadership
About You
You will be a confident, compassionate, and highly experienced leader with a strong track record in children’s residential care.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential children’s care, ideally as a Registered Manager
Proven Good or Outstanding Ofsted history
Strong understanding of trauma-informed and therapeutic care
Knowledge of PACE, attachment-based practice, and what excellent therapeutic placements look like
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
Full UK driving licence
Strong working knowledge of legislation and regulatory frameworks
Ability to challenge, guide, and support senior teams constructively
Enhanced DBS and strong professional references
