Role Overview:
Software Resources is seeking a Senior Business Development Executive to drive new client acquisition and help build the next phase of our sales organization.
This is a hands-on, revenue-producing role designed for an experienced staffing sales professional who thrives in a hunter environment and wants the opportunity to grow into a leadership role. Initially, this position will focus on new logo acquisition and revenue generation. Once consistent production and ROI milestones are achieved, the individual will play a key role in building, mentoring, and leading a growing sales team.
This role is ideal for a proven closer who wants more than just a desk and a quota — someone who wants to help shape the future of a sales organization.
About Software Resources:
Software Resources is a national staffing firm and WBENC-certified women-owned business, delivering top talent to clients and meaningful career opportunities to candidates since 1992.
We provide contract, contract-to-hire, and direct-hire staffing solutions across:
IT & Engineering
Creative & Marketing
Finance & Accounting
Administrative & Executive leadership
Our clients span industries including entertainment, media/streaming, gaming, hospitality, healthcare, energy, financial services, professional services, security, and state and local government.
Phase 1: Business Development & Revenue Growth:
In the initial phase, this role operates as a senior individual contributor with full ownership of new business development efforts nationwide.
Key responsibilities include:
Prospecting, penetrating, and closing new client accounts
Building and maintaining a consistent, qualified sales pipeline
Conducting cold outreach, networking, and strategic business development activities
Gathering detailed and accurate job requirements from clients
Breaking into new accounts and establishing long-term client relationships
Collaborating closely with recruiters and internal teams to ensure delivery excellence
Maintaining accurate reporting and pipeline data within Salesforce CRM
Representing the company professionally at industry events and networking opportunities
This is not a pure account management or sales enablement role. Success is measured by new client acquisition and revenue generation.
Phase 2: Sales Leadership & Team Development:
Once revenue goals and profitability benchmarks are met, this role will expand to include sales leadership responsibilities, with management support to grow the sales organization.
Leadership responsibilities may include:
Participating in hiring and onboarding new business development professionals
Coaching and mentoring sales team members
Helping define sales strategies, processes, and best practices
Providing input into territory planning, target markets, and growth initiatives
Serving as a player/coach while continuing to drive personal production
This phase offers the opportunity to transition into a true sales leadership role while maintaining hands-on involvement. In addition to unlimited commission, sales override will be included in Phase 2.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
5+ years of successful staffing sales experience (contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire)
Proven track record of breaking into new accounts and closing business
Experience selling staffing services across IT, Engineering, Creative, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Administrative, or Executive roles
Existing book of business with clients procuring staffing services
Strong consultative selling skills and objection-handling ability
Experience working with Salesforce CRM
Comfortable performing at high activity levels in a hunter role
College degree required
No non-compete restrictions
Preferred:
Experience with Apollo.io
Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter
Prior exposure to mentoring or leading junior sales professionals
Personal Attributes:
Results-driven and financially motivated
Self-directed, organized, and accountable
Confident communicator able to engage stakeholders at all levels
Resilient and comfortable with rejection
High ethical standards and professional presence
Collaborative team player with a growth mindset
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission
Hybrid work environment (home and office as needed)
Major medical, dental, and vision insurance
401(k) with company match
Paid holidays, paid time off, and paid vacation
Final note:
This role is best suited for a proven hunter who wants to build something. Someone excited by the challenge of creating revenue first and earning the opportunity to lead.
