About the Role
DC Power Technician (Headend Environment) Overview
We are seeking a DC Power Technician to support installation, maintenance, and upgrades of -48V DC power systems within a telecommunications/headend environment. This role involves working on live power systems and ensuring reliable uptime for critical infrastructure. Responsibilities
Install and upgrade DC power systems, including rectifiers, battery plants, and cabling
Perform live power work (hot work) and circuit transitions safely
Install and maintain cable racks, raceways, and power infrastructure
Test, troubleshoot, and repair DC systems and battery equipment
Read blueprints, follow MOPs, and complete required documentation
Qualifications
3+ years of experience with DC power systems, battery plants, or UPS systems
Strong understanding of DC power theory and troubleshooting
Experience working on energized equipment preferred
Knowledge of safety practices (PPE, lockout/tagout)
Ability to read technical drawings
Requirements
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined spaces
Reliable transportation and basic hand tools preferred
Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience is a plus
