Early Years Teaching Assistant

About the role:

Justteachers is offering an opportunity for a caring Early Years Teaching assistant to join a wonderful primary school in Coventry. This full time post is to start after the February Half term with short listing currently taking place.

The school makes sure they provide a happy, safe and caring environment for all students. Overall they have a ‘good’ OFSTED report with an ‘outstanding’ in personal development. The school work closely with families to keep them updated with their child’s progress. Parent feedback is very positive with parents feeling proud that their child is part of such a close knit school

Key responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and group support to students who need extra help.
• Supporting the emotional needs of the students
• Supporting the class teacher
• Help de-escalate any challenging behaviour within the class room calmly and effectively.
• Use play-based strategies to promote learning and engagement of the students.

Pre-requisites:

• A level 3 early years qualification
• Experience supporting young children with additional needs, preferably in a early needs setting
• Excellent communication and team work skills
• A strong understanding of Early Years development
• Two references from education or child-based roles
