Assistant Controller

Assistant Controller High-Growth Construction Industry Opportunity Our client, a leading and rapidly growing construction organization, is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join its corporate accounting team. This position is ideal for a CPA or CPA-track accounting professional with a strong technical accounting foundation, public accounting experience, and exposure to construction accounting concepts including percentage-of-completion (POC), job costing, and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting. The successful candidate will join a high-performing finance organization supporting a multi-billion-dollar business experiencing significant year-over-year growth. Responsibilities Manage and maintain the integrity of the general ledger across multiple entities and divisions. Lead account reconciliation processes and support accurate financial reporting. Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities. Support fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and amortization. Assist with external audits and auditor requests. Support Sales and Use Tax compliance activities. Assist with POC accounting, job costing, and WIP reporting. Strengthen internal controls and support process improvement initiatives. Collaborate across departments to support accurate and timely financial reporting. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. CPA license or active pursuit of CPA certification preferred 5+ years of accounting experience. Public accounting experience preferred. Construction industry experience preferred. Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting. Experience with POC accounting, job costing, and WIP reporting highly desirable.
