<p><b>Factory Operative</b></p> <p><b>Location</b>: Factory-based (Cambridgeshire site)</p> <p><b>Hours</b>: Full-Time (Shift pattern: 8:00am &#8211; 4:30pm; Monday to Friday)</p> <p><b>Salary</b>: Hourly rate (negotiable, dependent on experience)</p> <p><b>About the Company</b></p> <p>Our client, Dixon International Group Limited (DIG), is a long-established family-run manufacturing business specialising in construction and fire safety products, including intumescent seals, acoustic seals, and structural components used in buildings and infrastructure projects.</p> <p>With decades of industry experience, DIG supplies high-quality products that contribute to fire protection, energy efficiency, and structural performance across the UK and beyond.</p> <p><b>Role Overview</b></p> <p>As a Factory Operative, you will support the manufacture, assembly, and preparation of specialist construction products within a busy production environment.</p> <p>This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who is reliable, hardworking, and flexible, with the willingness to work across multiple areas of the factory as required.</p> <p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p> <ul> <li>Operate machinery and production equipment used in manufacturing rubber, plastic, and fire safety sealing products.</li> <li>Assemble, cut, and prepare materials to required specifications.</li> <li>Assist in the production of intumescent and acoustic sealing solutions.</li> <li>Carry out manual handling duties, including lifting, moving, and packaging products.</li> <li>Work across different departments (production, finishing, packing, dispatch) as needed.</li> <li>Ensure all products meet required quality standards.</li> <li>Maintain a clean and safe working environment.</li> <li>Follow all health and safety procedures.</li> <li>Support with stock control and order preparation for dispatch.</li> <li>Work effectively as part of a team to meet production targets.</li> </ul> <p><b>Essential Requirements:</b></p> <ul> <li>Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic.</li> <li>Comfortable with manual handling and physical work.</li> <li>Punctual with excellent timekeeping.</li> <li>Flexible and willing to work across different roles / areas of the factory.</li> <li>Positive attitude with a &#8220;can do&#8221; approach to hard work.</li> <li>Ability to follow instructions and adhere to health and safety procedures.</li> </ul> <p><b>Desirable (Not Essential):</b></p> <ul> <li>Forklift truck (FLT) experience or licence.</li> <li>Previous manufacturing or factory experience.</li> <li>Full UK driving licence.</li> <li>Working environment.</li> <li>Factory-based role within a manufacturing and production setting.</li> <li>Physical work including lifting, standing, and manual tasks.</li> <li>Use of PPE and adherence to strict health and safety standards.</li> </ul> <p><b>Skills and Personal Attributes:</b></p> <ul> <li>Strong attention to detail.</li> <li>Good teamwork and communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.</li> <li>Willingness to learn new processes and machinery.</li> <li>Practical, hands-on mindset.</li> </ul> <p><b>Benefits and Additional Information:</b></p> <ul> <li>Family-run business with a supportive working environment.</li> <li>Full training provided.</li> <li>Development opportunities available for the right candidates.</li> <li>23 days holiday plus statutory entitlement.</li> <li>On-site parking available.</li> <li>Good transport links to the factory location.</li> <li>Stable, full-time position with consistent daytime hours (8:00am &#8211; 4:30pm).</li> </ul> <p>Apply today with an up-to-date CV.</p>
