WHAT YOU WILL DO
As Senior Manager, Market Sensing & Research, you will be the voice of the customer at Hyundai and Genesis—shaping vehicles, technologies, and brand strategy from early concept through post‑launch. This role sits at the intersection of consumer insight, product development, and brand strategy, partnering closely with leaders across Product Planning, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, and PR.
You’ll lead high‑impact research programs, translate complex data into compelling stories, and help futureproof our portfolio by identifying emerging consumer and market trends. If you’re curious, strategic, and energized by influencing big decisions, this role offers both visibility and impact.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
This position has three primary areas of responsibility:
Lead Custom Market Research (End-to-End)
Own a “cradle‑to‑grave” research approach across the full vehicle lifecycle—from early concepts to post‑launch performance
Design and lead qualitative and quantitative studies (custom research, syndicated data, brand trackers) that bring consumer insights into business and product decisions
Partner with cross‑functional teams and senior leadership to ensure insights directly inform strategy
Manage research vendors, methodologies, timelines, budgets, and deliverables
Present findings to large and senior audiences, including executive leadership, with clear business implications
Own Brand Health Tracking
Lead Hyundai and Genesis brand and model health tracking programs
Partner with Marketing and agency teams to connect brand performance with marketing actions
Develop, analyze, and report key brand and model KPIs on a quarterly basis
Deliver ad‑hoc analyses to support strategic questions across the enterprise
Champion Consumer Trends
Identify, interpret, and socialize emerging consumer, cultural, and mobility trends
Leverage custom and syndicated data to uncover opportunities for new products, services, and experiences
Translate trends into actionable ideas that help futureproof the business
Be a trusted thought partner across the organization on what’s next in mobility and consumer behavior
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
Eight or more years of combined market trends and market research experience, including managing custom qualitative and quantitative consumer research.
At least 2 years at an automotive or mobility company preferred.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Master’s degree a plus.
Strong analytical skills to synthesize complex data sources and uncover market-driven insights that can be translated to clear, forward-looking recommendations
Ability to develop compelling, visually engaging PowerPoint presentations and confidently present to large stakeholder groups, including senior executives
Deep understanding of market research design, methodology, and analysis
Experience managing vendors, budgets, and multiple concurrent projects
Proficiency with SPSS and cross‑tab tools (e.g., MTAB)
Solid understanding of automotive technologies, consumer behavior, and market trends
