We are seeking a Locums
Cardiothoracic Surgery PA or NP to provide coverage in Springfield, OH. This
role supports adult and geriatric patients in cardiothoracic and vascular
surgery settings, as well as critical care if applicable. Candidates must have
prior experience in cardiothoracic/vascular surgery or critical care; new
graduates will not be considered.
Schedule &
Coverage
Shifts: 10–11 days per
month
Shift
Timing:
Friday afternoon through the following full week and weekend (starting
either Sunday evening or Monday AM)
Average
Patient Volume:
5–20 patients per day
Practice Setting
Cardiothoracic
and vascular surgery services
Adult
and geriatric patient population
EMR:
Epic
Clinical
Responsibilities & Procedures
Coordinate
patient care across perioperative and postoperative settings
Round
on patients and document findings
Order
and interpret laboratory tests and imaging studies
Write
prescriptions as needed
Assist
in surgery (optional, not required)
Perform
vein harvesting procedures
Retrieval
of vascular tissues for bypass conduit (optional, not required)
Requirements &
Certifications
Board
Certified PA or NP
Active
or eligible Ohio medical license (must be obtainable quickly if not
currently licensed)
ACLS
certification
COVID-19
vaccination
Prior
experience in cardiothoracic or vascular surgery preferred; critical care
experience also acceptable
Proven
ability to manage adult and geriatric surgical patients
