This is a remote position.
A dynamic opportunity exists for a Senior Field Electrical Technician to join a forward-thinking company specializing in advanced systems and solutions. This role combines both hands-on fieldwork and collaboration with internal and external teams, providing an exciting chance to work on innovative projects across a range of industries. The technician will play a key role in system installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting, ensuring the successful delivery of projects to high-quality standards.
- Install, commission, and maintain systems both onsite and in remote environments, including offshore or overseas locations.
- Conduct fault finding and troubleshoot issues during installation and maintenance, utilizing logical problem-solving techniques and electrical testing tools.
- Assemble, test, and deploy systems in collaboration with engineering teams and workshop technicians.
- Ensure compliance with internal documentation processes and quality standards such as ISO9001.
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including internal teams, customers, and subcontractors, to ensure smooth project execution.
- Support procurement activities for system components and manage rental equipment shipments, returns, and restocking.
- Document project progress, including daily reports, testing results, and installation records, while contributing to lessons learned and process improvement.
- Support the successful delivery of projects by working closely with project managers to ensure timelines and budgets are met.
- Maintain flexibility to travel and work in diverse environments, including extended periods offshore or in remote locations.
- HNC/HND or Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven field experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of cable termination, power systems, and networking components.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and current meters for fault finding.
- IT literacy, with the ability to troubleshoot and communicate technical issues effectively.
- Knowledge of PLC systems, NMEA, and MODBUS protocols is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems and exposure to hardware and software testing is a plus.
- Offshore training and certification are advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- Flexibility to work extended periods away from home, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to adapt to high-pressure environments and deliver results within tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to maintain positive interactions with clients and team members.
- Attention to detail in documenting project activities and ensuring auditability of reports.
- Proactive problem-solving approach with the ability to recommend effective remedies.
- Possession of a European visa or passport is advantageous.
