About the role:
Justteachers are seeking an experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead & Alternative Provision Lead to join a secondary academy in the Newark area. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting vulnerable students and ensuring safeguarding remains at the heart of school life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on safeguarding processes and procedures across the school
- Work closely with external agencies and families
- Manage referrals and safeguarding records
- Monitor the wellbeing and attendance of vulnerable students
- Coordinate alternative provision placements where required
- Support staff with safeguarding training and advice
Pre-requisites:
- Previous safeguarding experience within education is essential
- Knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational and record-keeping abilities
- Ability to remain calm in challenging situations
- Provide two education/school-based references from the last two years
