We are working with a leading large-scale glass manufacturing company supplying high-quality glass products to customers nationwide. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a reliable and hardworking Despatch Operative to join a busy logistics team.
The Role
As a Despatch Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring products are loaded, unloaded, handled, and dispatched safely and efficiently. This is a physically active role within a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading glass products from delivery vehicles safely and securely
- Checking goods against delivery notes and despatch paperwork
- Inspecting products for damage before loading
- Securing loads correctly to prevent movement during transport
- Handling and disposing of spillages safely and in line with company procedures
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment within the despatch area
- Assisting with stock movement and warehouse organisation
- Completing relevant documentation accurately
- Following all health and safety policies, particularly when handling glass materials
- Supporting other departments as required
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or despatch environment
- Ability to work safely in a heavy industrial setting
- Good attention to detailStrong teamwork skills
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
