- Early Childhood Job Title: Assistant Teacher Job Status: Permanent/Part Time Contact: Patricia Tarquinio, Principal E-Mail: ptarquinio@popejohnpaul2sch.org Job Description: Pope John Paul II Regional Catholic Elementary school is accepting applications from qualified candidates for the Little Saints Academy Child Care Center for part-time/year-round. The Assistant Teacher is responsible for providing quality care to infants and/or toddlers. Duties and Responsibilities The Assistant Teacher will be responsible for supporting and assisting the Lead Teacher in the successful management of the classroom environment and compassionate, efficient care of the children. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Assist teacher in implementing lesson plans based on the curriculum - Assist teacher with consistent, effective daily communication with parents. - Assist teacher in assessment of student developmental growth - Assist in set up and maintenance of the classroom environment - Supervision of children during all events of the day - Assist with daily record keeping including attendance, health and behavior - Effective, consistent communication with the teacher and other staff as needed - assist the teacher as needed - other duties as assigned by the teacher Requirements The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, respectful and caring person 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma. Demonstrated experience in the child care field or Early Childhood Education is desirable.
