You will join a large, internationally operating organization with a centralized Finance Shared Service Center supporting multiple European countries. The finance culture is structured, deadline‑driven and international, with clear roles and well‑defined processes.

Functie

In this position, you act as the primary point of contact for the general ledger of assigned countries. You independently manage month‑end activities, ensure balance sheet accuracy and support local stakeholders with financial insights.Your responsibilities include:

• Full responsibility for month‑end close activities, including preparation, posting and review of journal entries
• Managing accruals, prepayments and provisions, ensuring correct cut‑off and documentation
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving differences in cooperation with local finance teams
• Posting and reviewing fixed asset, concession fee and rate‑related entries
• Preparing and submitting VAT declarations in line with local regulations
• Acting as a finance contact for controllers, country finance managers and auditors
• Supporting internal and external audits by providing explanations and documentation
• Contributing to process improvements and standardization within the shared service model

Profiel

You are an experienced GL Accountant who is comfortable working independently within a structured SSC environment. You understand how local accounting requirements translate into standardized processes and are confident communicating with international stakeholders.
You bring:

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar
• 2-5 years of experience in General Ledger or financial accounting roles
• Experience within a shared service center or international organization
• Practical knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle or Navision preferred)
• Strong understanding of month‑end close, balance sheet control and VAT
• Professional working proficiency in English or Spanish
• A structured, accurate working style and confidence meeting deadlines
