About the Role
<h2 style="text-align: center"><strong>Veterinary Surgeon – South Wales<br />
(Permanent, Full-Time)</strong></h2>
<p>GVC is assisting a well-established small animal clinic in<strong> South Wales</strong>, with the recruitment of an experienced <strong>Veterinary Surgeon</strong> for a permanent, full-time role. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident clinician who enjoys a varied caseload and wants to work within a supportive, collaborative team environment.</p>
<p>This busy first-opinion practice sees a high volume of ECC cases and is well equipped with multiple consulting rooms, a dedicated operating theatre, and an imaging suite. The team is supported by experienced nurses who actively undertake Schedule 3 procedures, allowing vets to focus on delivering high-quality medicine and surgery. Additional diagnostic support, including ultrasound scanning, is available when required.</p>
<p>Located in the heart of South Wales, the practice benefits from a strong community feel and outstanding access to the Brecon Beacons, making it ideal for candidates who enjoy outdoor pursuits alongside a rewarding clinical role. Excellent road links also provide easy access to Cardiff and the M4 corridor.</p>
<h3><strong>The Role</strong></h3>

<li>Permanent, full-time position
<li>40 hours per week over 4 days
<li>1 in 4 Saturdays
<li>Part-time options considered for the right candidate

<strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Deliver high standards of clinical care across both consultations and surgery
<li>Manage a varied first-opinion caseload, including ECC work
<li>Build strong relationships with clients through clear communication and tailored treatment plans
<li>Work collaboratively with vets, nurses, and support staff to maintain clinical excellence
<li>Contribute to the ongoing development of the practice and wider clinical team
</ul>
<h3><strong>The Ideal Candidate</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Qualified Veterinary Surgeon, MRCVS registered
<li>Confident in both medicine and surgery
<li>Comfortable working in a busy practice environment
<li>A team player with a genuine commitment to patient and client care
</ul>

<strong>Salary & Benefits</strong></h3>

<li>£45,000-£65,000
<li>5 weeks’ annual leave
<li>CPD allowance of £1,500 plus paid CPD leave
