MOT Tester

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Vehicle Technician and MOT Tester to join a busy workshop operation covering Scunthorpe and the surrounding areas. This role involves carrying out MOT testing, vehicle servicing, diagnostics and repairs on a range of vehicles to ensure they meet safety and roadworthiness standards. It would suit a qualified Vehicle Technician and MOT Tester who is confident working independently, enjoys hands on technical work and is looking for consistent weekday hours with competitive hourly pay on monthly contracts. Key responsibilities Carrying out MOT tests in line with DVSA standards and regulations. Identifying, diagnosing and resolving mechanical and system faults across a variety of vehicles. Inspecting, maintaining and repairing vehicles to ensure reliability and roadworthiness. Completing job cards, maintenance records and associated paperwork accurately and clearly. Stripping down and rebuilding vehicle components using technical guides and manufacturer specifications. Replacing engines, transmissions and other major vehicle systems when required. Conducting routine servicing and preventative maintenance. Supporting general workshop duties as required to assist the wider team. Skills and experience required A clean UK driving licence. Proven experience working as a Vehicle Technician and MOT Tester. Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills. Good understanding of DVSA standards and vehicle safety requirements. Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively. High attention to detail when completing repairs and documentation.
