Design Manager - HVAC

HVAC, Ducting, AOV – Air Opening Vents

Responsible for managing all aspects of the design office, staff & processes.

Designing HVAC, fire rated ductwork and smoke control systems for the fire safety industry. Delivering turnkey project solutions for the residential and commercial construction industry.

This will cover all areas from initial concept through to final delivery of designs, and supporting the projects teams through installation, commissioning and customer acceptance.

Responsibilities

• Develop system designs from customer specifications and fire strategies.
• Write up designs into Design Specifications and supporting design documentation.
• Undertake calculations required to validate system designs.
• Transpose system designs into CAD drawings
• Assist with development of designs in accordance with standards and codes of practice.
• Maintain up to date information for teamwork schedule.
• Respond to customer design enquiries.
• Attend new works handover meetings with relevant stakeholders.
• Attend external customer design meetings.

Ideal Knowledge :

Mechanical & natural smoke control systems, car park smoke clearance systems

Electrical, HVAC and building services designs.

CFD - Computational Fluid Dynamics

Experience of: designs using AutoCAD.

Competency: Technical writing skills

BS5839, BS5266 & BS7671 standards
