About the Role

Talentmark are recruiting for a Product Development Chemist to join an Adhesive Tape manufacturing company at their site based in Leicester on a full time, permanent basis for a salary ranging from £38,000 - £43,000 per annum. The Company: A Leading and well-established UK-based manufacturer of a wide range of adhesive tapes. Working hours are 36¼ hours, Monday – Friday 8.30 am – 5 pm with 1¼ hours for lunch, with a flexi-time option. Location: The Product Development Chemist will be based at the company's site in Leicester, also commutable from Nottingham, Derby, Coventry and surrounding areas. Product Development Chemist Role: Your main duties will include: Evaluating, qualifying and conducting studies on project ideas. Leading projects in line with defined processes, assessing risks and mitigating these. Visiting customers, suppliers and end users. Being one step ahead of technological advances and legislative changes in adhesives and tape manufacture . Being one step ahead of market trends and competitors to identify gaps in the company's product range. Working with the company's marketing team to launch new products. Supporting commercial staff with responding to customer queries and technical questions. Your Background: The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience: BSc, MSci or MChem degree in Chemistry or Polymer Science. Knowledge of Pressure-sensitive adhesives and adhesive tape technology - including their manufacturing and formulation. Excellent project management, communication and organisational skills. Minimum 2 years' experience leading cross-functional project teams and bringing new products to market. Excellent analytical and reporting skills. Ability to identify and communicate risk (Quality, Health and safety, Financial and Service). Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle.
