About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our client based in the Midlands, our client is a leading civils and highways contractor operating throughout the UK.
We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Estimator with a min 5 years of working within the Highways industry and has previously worked for a Main Contractor.
As an Estimator you will be familiar with pricing Highways maintenance packages, and have Highways maintenance contract experience. You will be able to take quantities off PDF drawings and have a great understanding of the method of measurement.
It is essential to have worked recently worked on Civils/Highways schemes.
Responsibilities:
Accurate preparation of tenders for targeted capital projects and maintenance contracts
Timely bid management of key tenders
Completion of tender review for all estimates
Completion of all relevant quality assurance requirement relating to Estimating Compiling material quotation enquiries and subsequent reconciliations
Compiling Sub-Contract quotation enquiries and subsequent reconciliations
Completion of tender handovers for contract awards
Comparison of final contract cost to tender allowances
Review and provide proposal for improved Purchasing
Supply chain development
Key skills and Experience:
Previous experience of Estimating similar works
Ability to demonstrate a track record of winning profitable contracts
Previous experience of handing over tenders
Strong presentation skills
Team player and motivator
Understanding of conditions of contract, specifications and drawings
The ability to achieve tight deadlines under pressure
Professional with a strong commercial acumen; have good influencing and negotiation skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels
A team player with a flexible approach to achieving joint objectives
Ability to plan and organise own time and workload; enthusiastic with a strong work ethic
