Live-in Couple, Outer Hebrides, Scotland

Greycoat Lumley's client are seeking an experienced, proactive, and hands-on Couple to manage the day-to-day running of a beautiful private property on an island in the Outer Hebrides. Surrounded by stunning beaches, bays and outstanding outdoor activities, this is a unique opportunity for a capable couple who enjoy island life, high standards of hospitality and working with discerning guests.

The Role

The successful Couple will act as the main point of contact for the property.  They will be responsible for ensuring the property is always beautifully presented, well organised and ready to welcome visitors.

Key Responsibilities

The duties can be divided between the Couple as they prefer.

• Manage guest reservations received online, by email and by telephone.
• Prepare the house for arrivals and ensure it is kept to an excellent standard throughout each stay.
• Welcome guests, assist with their needs and act as the go-to point of contact during visits.
• Help guests with island activities, travel arrangements, and transport to and from the property where required.
• Arrange chefs for guests from an approved list and coordinate accommodation for chefs when needed.
• Identify maintenance issues promptly and oversee contractors or appropriate solutions.
• Manage part-time housekeepers, while also taking a hands-on approach when required.
• Undertake occasional guest driving duties.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with the Principal, Factor, and wider team.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in a private household, luxury hospitality, estate, lodge, boutique hotel, or similar guest-facing environment.
• Confident dealing with high-end clientele and able to provide warm, discreet, and polished service.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Self-starters who are practical, flexible and comfortable working independently.
• Hands-on approach with the ability to support housekeeping and property presentation as needed.
• Comfortable living and working in a remote island location.
• Full driving licence preferred due to the nature of the location and guest support required.

The property is situated on an island in the Outer Hebrides, offering spectacular scenery, beautiful beaches and bays, and an abundance of outdoor activities. The local community is welcoming, and the role would particularly suit a couple who enjoy the outdoors and a slower-paced island lifestyle.

The island can be reached by plane followed by a drive, or by ferry. Candidates should be comfortable with island travel and the practicalities of a remote location.

Accommodation:  Provided and comprises a one-bedroom property with a separate entrance.  Council Tax and utility bills included

Salary:  £70,000 GPA
