Material Handling Supervisor (Material Area Supervisor)
Location: Toledo, OH
Pay: $29.83/hr
Schedule: Must be flexible (could work 5:30 AM–3:30 PM or 4:00 PM–2:30 AM). Overtime as needed.
Position Summary
Seeking a hands-on Material Handling Supervisor / Material Area Supervisor to lead hourly, bargaining-unit employees supporting daily manufacturing production. A Bachelors Degree is REQUIRED. You’ll oversee material receiving and lineside delivery, troubleshoot issues in real time, manage staffing/training, and drive lean/continuous improvement to protect throughput and inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead hourly, bargaining teams in material receiving, staging, and production delivery
- Troubleshoot material flow/throughput issues and reallocate resources quickly
- Monitor and replenish lineside inventory; prevent shortages and downtime
- Manage manpower (absenteeism, training, shift coverage)
- Partner with union leadership on team member concerns
- Manage material handling equipment and safe operating procedures
- Complete daily reporting for safety, quality, throughput, and inventory control
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree REQUIRED
- Ability to work any shift + overtime
- 18+ months manufacturing and/or supervisory experience preferred
- Union environment experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
- Bachelor’s in Supply Chain/Logistics/Business preferred
