About the RoleWalsall Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Advanced Practitioner to join its Children with Disabilities Team. This is a key role for an accomplished social work professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with disabilities and their families.As an Advanced Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality social work practice across the Children with Disabilities Team. You will provide professional guidance, oversight, and support to social workers while working directly with complex cases.Key ResponsibilitiesHold a small, complex caseload involving children and young people with disabilitiesProvide professional leadership, advice, and reflective supervision to social workers within the teamSupport the assessment, planning, and review of child-focused interventionsEnsure statutory responsibilities are met in line with legislation, policy, and best practiceLead on complex Child in Need, Child Protection, and Care proceedings where requiredContribute to decision-making, risk management, and quality assurance of caseworkWork closely with multi-agency partners to deliver coordinated and effective supportSupport the development and mentoring of less experienced practitionersPromote a strengths-based, child-centred, and inclusive approach to practice About YouA qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registrationSignificant post-qualifying experience, ideally within Children with Disabilities servicesStrong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act and safeguarding frameworksConfident in supervising, mentoring, and supporting other practitionersAble to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, supportive environment If you thrive to make a difference and have 3 years Social worker experience and this is the role for you, then we would love to hear from you.
