Our client, a leading technology consultancy, is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join their growing cloud engineering practice. This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale, cloud-native transformation projects across a diverse portfolio of enterprise clients, predominantly within financial services.
As a Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and scaling secure, resilient, and automated platforms in AWS, with a strong emphasis on Kubernetes-based workloads.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable, secure AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
- Build, manage, and optimise Kubernetes platforms (EKS preferred)
- Develop CI/CD pipelines to enable high-velocity, low-risk deployments
- Improve observability, reliability, and performance across distributed systems
- Implement DevOps best practices and promote platform engineering standards
- Work closely with client teams to enable cloud adoption and modernisation
Key skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS (e.g., EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3, EKS)
- Production experience with Kubernetes (ideally EKS)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
- CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
- Containerisation (Docker)
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture principles
Desirable:
- Experience in consultancy or client-facing roles
- Observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK, etc.)
- GitOps practices (ArgoCD, Flux)
- Scripting (Python, Bash, or similar)
- AWS certifications
